Fruit Market

This project kickstarted development in preparation for City of Culture 2017 and beyond. The project involved the refurbishment and selective rebuilding of properties within the Conservation Area to form new residential, cultural and commercial uses. Many elements of the scheme at the ground floor level were left as flexible ‘white box’ spaces, capable of accommodating a number of different uses. Whilst others were purposefully designed to become hospitality and performance venues. The majority of space on the upper floors have specific proposals, including office and residential properties, responding sympathetically to the constraints of existing walls between properties and available roof spaces.
