The size of the houses is informed by the local vernacular. The neighbouring houses are similar in footprint and scale, with pitched roofs.
The design of this terrace of 5 houses is directly informed by the existing terraced pattern of development on Wicklow Avenue. However the roofs have been turned through 90 degrees to create a distinctive ‘saw tooth’ pattern of gables. The ‘Home Zone’ area to the front of the development, provides an attractive parking court with associated landscaping whilst ensuring the public footpath to the school is maintained as a safe access route.
