The Former Imperial Hotel/Pub, Cleethorpes

SECTOR: Housing – CONTRACT VALUE: Multi-Million – STATUS: Planning

The Imperial pub is a good looking Victorian building on the main route into Cleethorpes. It has been used as a hotel and a temporary army hospital in the past, but most people know it a ‘The Imp’ the pub closest to Blundell Park, the home of Grimsby Town FC.

The proposed scheme creates 16 flats within the existing building and the adjoining coach house, with a new building to the corner of Imperial Avenue and Grimsby Road providing 3 flats and 3 townhouses. The corner is enlivened by a glass fronted showroom.

Brick detailing picks up on the existing detail of courses of white brickwork to corner properties.

The scheme received planning approval in 2017.
