School Sports Complex

The standalone Sports Complex is designed to be sited within the grounds of Healing School. A double height circulation route supports a passive environmental strategy whilst providing access to a new multi-use sports hall and changing facilities in line with Sport England recommendations.

The first floor office accommodation is accessed via a striking open stair and bridge, giving views over the Sports Hall and building entrance. The circulation is designed as a buffer between the sports hall and its supporting accommodation, which is expressed in the materiality of the building; carefully detailed brickwork is proposed to the changing rooms and offices whilst brightly coloured Trespa cladding is envisaged to the sports hall.

The building offers opportunity for a bold lighting scheme, creating a beacon during nighttime activity.
