Claremont House, Grimsby

Claremont House, Grimsby

SECTOR: Housing – CONTRACT VALUE: Multi-Million – DATE COMPLETED: ongoing

Claremont House is a locally listed Victorian villa on a tree lined site within a conservation area close to Grimsby town centre. Many similar buildings in the area have been converted to flats with generally disappointing results. Victorian townhouses in the area are attractive and have remained popular with families. We have taken this as the cue to look at a new form of 3 and 4 bed family townhouses, raised to overcome flood risk issues, tall and slender with gable fronts creating a distinctive saw tooth roof profile with both private and shared garden spaces. The townhouses are arranged in four rows each set behind the existing villa to respect the existing setting visible from the west.

The scheme was approved in March 2017.
